In India Finance Minister Arun Jaitley announced two new initiatives under the Ayushman Bharat Programme in the Union Budget 2018 for prevention & health promotion, in the keeping in the mind that “Swasthya Bharat can be the Samridhya Bharat”.

He announced a new flagship National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) for over 10 crore “poor and vulnerable” families, an estimated 50 crore individual beneficiaries they will get coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh per family per year for secondary & tertiary care hospilization . He also said that “We are slowly progressing towards universal health coverage,” Mr. Jaitley said, adding that the scheme would be the “world’s largest healthcare programme” & adequate fund will be given for smooth implementation. Governments is aware that a lacks of families have to borrow or sell assets to receive treatment & hospitalization, Government is seriously concerns on them, slowly everyone will get facility by Government.
an allocation of Rs 12,000 crore for 1.5 lakh health and wellness centres. These centres — the “foundation of India’s health system” — will provide a comprehensive health care including a noncommunicable disease, maternal and child health services as well as free essential drugs and diagnostics. Government is also announced Rs.600 crore rupees for nutritional support for the tuberculosis patients. Under the provision, Rs500 a month will be paid through the treatment period to each patient.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also announced one medical college for every three Parliamentary constituencies, and at least one in every state. For quality medical service, Government also announced plans to set up 24 new colleges and upgrade existing district hospitals, it will ensure atleast 1 Government Medical college in each state in country of India.
